The De-suung Skilling Program (DSP) is a very important Royal Project initiated by His Majesty The King of Bhutan in 2021. As envisioned by His Majesty, DSP imparts a series of short-term high quality trainings to unemployed Bhutanese youths who have mostly completed high schools and are in their early or mid-20s. These youths have all undergone the De-suung training, which is a valued-based personal development program intended to encourage active citizenry in the process of nation-building.
The DSP trainings are mostly provided by international experts and trainers. In a few cases, public agencies and private institutes in Bhutan as well as local experts also impart the trainings either on their own or as assistants to international experts. Hence, DSP invites interested professionals, trainers or training providers to write to us to explore possible engagement.
The trainings are focused on hands-on practical learning and are delivered in person onsite in Bhutan. The trainers work full time (9 am to 5 pm on weekdays, 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays). The overall duration of a training normally ranges from 1 month to 6 months.
Generally, courses for DSPs will all be delivered in English. Hence, we expect foreign experts and trainers to have competencies to teach in English.
On its part, DSP will offer the following to the foreign trainers and experts.
The engagement of foreign experts and trainers will be formalized upon signing a Contract Agreement reflecting the broad terms of engagement mentioned above. Besides the Contract Agreement, trainers will also have the obligation to sign a Code of Conduct for the duration of their engagement.
DSP invites interested professionals, trainers or training providers to write to the following email addresses indicating your skilling area of interest: dpem@mof.gov.bt, tashiw@bsb.gov.bt and sisirc@desuung.org.bt
